Winters Bone (2010) clip 7

Winters Bone is a 2010 independent American film, conveying genres of mystery and drama by Debra Granik. The sequence I have chosen opens with a hand held eye-level close-up moving up to Tear Drops expression of relief and slight anger, he's a character audiences may connect with now that his characters being represented as the new hero. The lighting in this frame is kept low-key to present the situation as dark and morbid, this connects with the background music of maintaining that serious tone and atmosphere to create a sense of pain there small society has to go through.

There sociality consists differently to the majority of the world and the people in the place act as if its the only place on Earth, where the rules are different and they're above the law and government. Its a patriarchal society where the men hold the power and treat the women differently, forcing the women to form there own society of power diving all people depending on the respect they have from there community.

In the later scene we are shown Tear Drop handing Ree over to the women, this shows us he'll only go a certain length before he believes its out of his hands as a male character. Even his expression to his body language represents him as a power character in his community, although we are shown his character looking almost sympathetic towards Ree, which is off character in his situation. This is shown during a mid-shot of Tear Drop to demonstrate to the audience his cold slanted stance looking roughly broken up due to the guilt his mildly feel for the consequences Ree faces.
